Evaporate

Feat 52: Week #25

the longer i live the more i lose.

Shima Sketch

Feat 52: Week #24

just a couple ideas/patterns i came up with today and strung together. struggled a bunch with the finger picking pattern. a large part of the problem in recording something the night i come up with it is that i don’t really get a chance to clean it up, practice. at all. but i guess the letting go is the whole point of this.

thought of my friend mark while working on this. he makes playing banjo picking patterns at 240bpm look like a walk in the park.

Small Ways

Feat 52: Week #23

trying to simplify. most the time i feel like my mind is a cluttered mess, teased by the small failings that surround me.

Big Blue Vanilla Ice

Feat 52: Week #22

when the scariest thing is lack of control…

All Will Unravel

Feat 52: Week #21

because eventually the glass will be half-empty… sitting on a yazoo coaster next to a boss dr-202.

Friendly Fire

Feat 52: Week #20

the temptation exists… to fix things, people — whether they need it or not.  and we often do it for ourselves… but i am of the camp that believes life is not tidy.  it takes more energy than i have to even begin to counter-act the entropy of daily existence.

David Lynch Highway

Feat 52: Week #19

a la mulholland drive…

anyone?

Ode To A Dying Hornet

Feat 52: Week #18

late is the new on-time.  this is last week’s song…

sympathy for an insect… in the form of a limerick.

i sit here and strum out some chords
for a hornet that dies on the floor
my bathrobe still on
the morning has gone
and soon it shall sting me no more.

Awake Without

Feat 52: Week #17

late is the new on-time.

this is an instrumental number that is a work in progress for my friend’s short film.  i’m settling in to the lapsteel a bit more…

your anyone

Feat 52: Week #16

wicked late.  pisser…  this new years resolution is officially kicking my ass.

just got a starter lapsteel this week.  unfortunately, it’s a bit harder than it looks.  i have a hard enough time singing in tune and now i’ve added an instrument to my collection that requires an ear for pitch.  great…
